Reward Based Training

Jo employs positive reinforcement techniques, in a calm and supportive environment, that reward and encourage your dog rather than use force or adversive methods. This builds trust and fosters long-term behavioural improvements.

Tellington TTouch Method

Tellington TTouch Training is a kind and respectful way of working with all animal species to help them overcome a variety of issues, and help develop a strong, positive, trusting bond between the animals and their owners. TTouch is effective in helping with:

  • Noise sensitivity (fireworks, thunder, gun shots)
  • Dislike of contact (handling, grooming)
  • Nervousness (lack of confidence, separation issues, socialisation problems, aggression)
  • Travelling problems (sickness, vocalisation, excessive salivation, reluctance to get into vehicle)
  • Lack of balance or concentration (pulling, training difficulties, stiffness/discomfort)
  • Hyperactivity/Restlessness (excitability, inability to settle or stand still)

Good Citizen Dog Scheme

The Good Citizen Dog Scheme is the largest dog training programme in the UK. It's aim is to promote responsible pet ownership by teaching dog owners practical dog training skills, which are used in everyday life situations, it also helps enhance a dog owners relationship with their dog and make the community aware of the benefits of dog ownership.

Animal Centered Education

ACE Free Work is a simple, low impact activity that was developed by Sarah Fisher at Tilley Farm.

ACE Free Work can help dogs to settle and calm and has been beneficial for some dogs with noise sensitivity as they focus more on what they smell, eat and feel rather than focusing purely on what they hear.

From Chaos to Calm

Jo's Calm Dog Course is an online group course that includes 4 zoom lessons with a follow up 5th session one month later to make sure you and your dog are progressing well. • Help the dogs be less excited and/or anxious in situations that are difficult for them.
  • To give you simple and effective techniques to use in these situations to help your dog.
  • How to use suitable equipment to help your dog be more in-balance when out walking on the lead.
