Behaviour Consultations are recommended for pets that show undesirable and problematic behaviour patterns such as;

  • Aggression towards people, dogs or other animals

  • Destructive behaviour

  • Separation anxiety

  • Fear related problems (including noise, fireworks, etc.)

  • Inappropriate toileting

  • Any other unusual behaviour patterns.

First of all your veterinary surgeon should be consulted to eliminate any possible medical or clinical causes for the behaviour. Following this, an appointment can be arranged with Jo, who is a qualified behaviour counsellor, dog trainer, registered veterinary nurse, and Tellington TTouch Training practitioner, to observe your pet and identify events, items or situations that could have triggered the behaviour problems.

Home visits can be for any dog, cat or small pet with behaviour problems. These consultations are conducted at your home so that I can see how your pet interacts with you in a familiar environment. Here we discuss your pet's inappropriate behaviour in detail, and develop a work programme that is put into action immediately to start resolving the problems! This is followed-up with a report highlighting the points that we discussed at the appointment, and you are encouraged to keep in touch with me via email or telephone to ensure that you are progressing well.

The initial appointment lasts approximately 2 hours, and follow-up appointments can be arranged if needed. There is also the option of attending small group lessons for reactive dogs, or Tellington TTouch Training workshops as either a participant with your dog or as a spectator if your dog cannot cope in a group environment.

A behaviour consultation at your home is £165

Follow-up appointments are £60

(Note: travel expenses will be added if you are more than 20 miles from the office DH7 9FR)

You can also learn some techniques that can help with many behaviour issues by booking a place on a Tellington TTouch Training workshop either with your dog or as a spectator if he/she cannot cope around people or other dogs. For more information please follow this link:
